Records of all species recorded during Ireland's BioBlitz 2012Purpose
Part of the BioBlitz event which involved five properties competing against one another to see which site could record the most species over a 24 hour period. BioBlitz is held annually and is intended to raise awareness of biodiversity recording and conservation.Sampling Description

Species Groups recorded: acarine (Acari), alga, amphibian, annelid, bird, bony fish (Actinopterygii), bryozoan, centipede, clubmoss, coelenterate (=cnidarian), conifer, crustacean, diatom, fern, flatworm (Turbellaria), flowering plant, fungus, harvestman (Opiliones), hornwort, horsetail, insect - alderfly (Megaloptera, insect - beetle (Coleoptera), insect - butterfly, insect - caddis fly (Trichopte, insect - dragonfly (Odonata), insect - earwig (Dermaptera), insect - hymenopteran, insect - mayfly (Ephemeroptera, insect - moth, insect - orthopteran, insect - scorpion fly (Mecopte, insect - stonefly (Plecoptera), insect - thrips (Thysanoptera), insect - true bug (Hemiptera), insect - true fly (Diptera), jawless fish (Agnatha), lichen, liverwort, millipede, mollusc, moss, ribbon worm (Nemertinea), slime mould, spider (Araneae), sponge (Porifera), springtail (Collembola), stonewort, tapeworm (Cestoda), terrestrial mammal.
Geographic Coverages
Four sites participated in 2012: Glengarriff Nature Reserve, Co. Cork, Lough Boora, Co. Offaly, Phoenix Park, Dublin and Crawfordsburn Country Park, Co. Down
