diagnosis
Diagnosis. Antenna long, multiarticulate. Secondary ciliary organs present. Three prebranchial segments. Branchiae numbering 7 – 18 pairs; with wide base and rounded tip. Modified notochaetae absent. Modified neurochaetae hooked with subterminal spine on concave side of stem.

Distribution. Western Atlantic, from Newfoundland (Kenchington et al. 2001) to Venezuela (Díaz-Díaz & Liñero 2011), and Eastern Atlantic, from the North Sea near Norway (Hartley 1981) to Portugal (Gil & Sardà 1999). Mediterranean (Katzmann & Laubier 1975). Pacific Ocean: Japan (Imajima 1973), California (Blake 1996), Panama (Aguado & López 2003).
