discussion
REMARKS. I found a similar problem with the generic assignment of Carineta tigrina while trying to identify specimens for this study. Boulard (1986 a) reports the head width (5.5 mm) being greater than the mesonotum width (5.1 mm) for this species as well, a characteristic of Herrera not Carineta. In addition, the lateral pronotum is not strongly angled mediad in this species as it is in species of Carineta. Therefore, based on the head being wider than the mesonotum and the shape of the prothorax, the species is reassigned to Herrera to become Herrera tigrina (Boulard, 1986 a) n. comb.
distribution
