Lactobacillus hominis (ho’mi. nis. L. gen. n. hominis of a human being). Lactobacillus hominis produces acid from galactose, glucose, fructose, mannose, cellobiose, maltose, lactose, sucrose, trehalose and raffinose. Mainly D-lactic acid (about 90 %) is produced from glucose [93]. The genome size is 1.93 Mbp and the mol % G + C content of DNA is 35.2.
