The National Herbarium of Seychelles came into existence in the early 1960s. The first collections came from M. Charles Jeffrey who was collecting for the Kew Herbarium (K) but left duplicate specimens in the Seychelles. Subsequent collectors have added to the herbarium's holding; other specimens have been obtained through collaboration with the herbarium of the Museum d’Histoire Naturelle de Paris (P). Today, the collection includes around 6000 specimens of vascular plants.Taxonomic Coverages
