This is a list of plant observations from a 5 day trip to Thyolo mountains which was once brachystegia/miombo woodland but has of late been degraded due to farming and charcoal burning. The area needs urgent attention because there is rampant soil erosion taking place.Purpose
The dataset is was created to help with conservation efforts in Malawi as the country is trying to come up with reafforestation programs. The area was once a forest reserve but has been cleared for farming and as well as trees cut down to produce charcoal for urban dwellers in Blantyre as the country is battling from electricity shortages.
