Organization provides scientific support of state ecological policy in the field of conservation of plants and animals, native associations and ecosystems; scientific and technical support activities for the preservation and management of biodiversity and biological resources as national heritage of the Republic of Belarus. Profile: - integrated studies and scientific support of reproduction, conservation and practical use of biological recourses; - estimation of state and dynamics of biological diversity, natural complexes and ecosystems; - elaboration of measures to reduce negative impact of invasive species, regulation of numbers of pests of agriculture, forest and hunting; - scientific support of organization, functioning and improvement of protected areas system and national ecological net.
