Katunskiy Biosphere Reserve

Description

One of the tasks of Katunskiy Biosphere Reserve (BR) is research and monitoring biodiversity of pristine high-altitudinal landscapes of its core zone. These activities include inventory of species and ecosystems, monitoring of typical plant communities, alpine ecosystems, vertebrates census etc. In order to tackle climate change effects for biodiversity of mountain ecosystems, monitoring of climate parameters along altitudinal gradients is also being conducted.
