description
Description. Male (Holotype, MCN). Carapace pale yellow with dark brown pattern, as shown on Fig. 153. Chelicerae pale yellow with median longitudinal brown stripe. Pedipalps pale yellow with few ventral and prolateral brown marks. Labium and endites pale yellow. Sternum pale yellow with faint brown markings in front of each coxae. Legs pale yellow. Femora I-IV with ventral, longitudinal marks. Abdomen gray with black pattern (Fig. 153). Total length 3.3. Carapace slightly domed, 1.7 long, 1.5 wide. Eye diameters: PME 0.14, ALE 0.14, PLE 0.14. Lateral eyes on a tubercle. Chelicerae with subapical hyaline keel and ten slightly conspicuous stridulatory ridges. Labium 0.14 long, 0.18 wide. Sternum 0.94 long, 0.74 wide. Leg measurements: I: femur 3.4, patella 0.4, tibia 3.7, metatarsus 4.3, tarsus 0.7, total 12.5; II: 2.4, 0.4, 2.4, 2.7, 0.6, 8.5; III: 1.6, 0.4, 1.3, 1.6, 0.5, 5.4; IV: 2.3, 0.4, 2.0, 2.3, 0.5, 7.5. Palpal femur with stridulatory pick short and stout on triangular and projected socket. Cymbium with single strong distal spine (Figs. 154 – 155). Bulb 0.48 long, medially constricted, with dorsal, truncated and concave distal region and a ventral sclerotized process (Figs. 154 – 156). Abdomen 1.6 long, 1.3 wide, covered with slender hairs. Female unknown.
diagnosis
Diagnosis. Males of Scytodes ilhota n. sp. are distinguished from those of the remaining Neotropical Scytodes by the distal area of the bulb with a dorsal, truncated and concave region and a ventral sclerotized process (Figs. 154 – 156).

Distribution. Atlantic Forest. Only known from the type locality, in the state of Santa Catarina.
etymology
Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition that refers to the type locality of the holotype.
