Description. Male (MCN 24097). Carapace and chelicerae brownish orange (Fig. 34 A). Endites orange; labium dark orange. Sternum orange with darker margins, and marbled with dark pigment (Fig. 34 B). Palps light orange (Fig. 35 A ‒ B). Legs orange, with pairs I ‒ II darker and dark pigment forming diffuse rings in the distal region of femur, patella, tibia, metatarsi and tarsi (Fig. 34 C ‒ E). Abdomen grey (Fig. 34 A ‒ B). Total length 6.24; carapace 2.72 long, 2.08 wide. Palps: tibia incrassated, with the dorso-ventral diameter shorter than the bulb; bulb rounded, mid-portion and embolus with equal lenghts; embolus tubular and curved abruptly (Fig. 35 A ‒ B). Legs: robust and coated with setae (Fig. 34 C ‒ E); tarsal brush of putative chemosensory setae present in legs I ‒ III, but reduced in pair I. Leg formula: I-II-IV-III. Sternum orange with darker margins, marbled with dark pigment, and three pairs of dark marginal areas, the hind one fainted (Fig. 34 G). Palps reddish orange, gradually darkening to distal direction (Figs 34 F ‒ G). Legs orange, with pairs I ‒ II darker and with dark pigment forming diffuse rings in the distal region of the tibia, metatarsus and tarsus (Fig. 34 H ‒ I). Abdomen as in male (Fig. 34 F ‒ G). Total length 10.4; carapace 4.36 long, 3.04 wide. Carapace with cephalic region elevated (Fig. 34 F). Legs: robust and densely coated with setae; legs I ‒ II with ventro-prolateral and ventro-retrolateral tibial macrosetae of similar size, and metatarsal macrosetae of different sizes (Fig. 34 H ‒ I). Leg formula: I-II-IV-III. Leg measurements: I, femur 3.28, patella 1.6, tibia 2.56, metatarsus 2.4, tarsus 0.8, total 10.64; II, 3.12, 1.56, 2.6, 2.36, 0.76, 10.4; III, 2.44, 1.24, 1.72, 1.68, 0.68, 7.76; IV, 2.96, 1.6, 2.24, 1.96, 0.72, 9.48. diagnosis

Diagnosis. Ariadna cephalotes is similar to A. boliviana due to the morphology of the male metatarsi I, with short ventro-prolateral macrosetae (Figs 34 C ‒ E, 36 C ‒ E), and tibiae I ‒ II macrosetae pattern of females, but differ by the male palp with short embolus with a basal anterior keel (Fig. 35 A ‒ B); females differ by the presence of an anterior receptaculum with the dorsal lobe with enlarged tip, and ventral lobe depressed ventrally (Fig. 35 C ‒ D). Note. Although Grismado's drawing (2008: figs 8 J ‒ K) show the dorsal lobe with a less enlarged tip that the specimen we present in this study (Figs 35 C ‒ D), both specimens present the ventral lobe depressed ventrally.
