discussion
Remarks. Bourgeois (1905) described as L. antennalis a single female from Sri Lanka as dorsally yellow with antennal segments 4 − 7 depressed. We know of three other Luciolinae species described as having serrate or flattened antennae (see discussion following description of Serratia sibuyania gen. et sp. nov.) Luciola intricata (Walker) has FS 2 – 8 serrate and is also treated here as species incertae. Serratia sibuyania gen. et sp. nov. has four FS laterally expanded. The single female of Luciola exstincta Olivier (1886) has FS 4 − 8 expanded but is a different colour to Serratia sibuyania gen. et sp. nov. Wijekoon et al. (2012) recorded the species from various locations in Sri Lanka but their method involved a catch and release and it is not possible to confirm their identifications. Wijekoon (pers. com.) indicated his identifications were tentative only.
