discussion
Remarks: A relatively common species, found in all the world’s oceans except the Mediterranean Sea. It is found most often in depths of 200 – 1000 m, and sometimes occurs near the surface (Vinogradov 1982 / 96). Zeidler and De Broyer (2009) indicated that this species might occur in the Southern Ocean with the most southerly record being from the south-west Pacific (46 ° 43 ’ S 176 ° 08 ’ E). Thus, the above is a new record for the Antarctic Zone of the Southeast Pacific Sector.
