description
Description. Male. Unknown. Female (holotype). Carapace orange, with cephalic area and lateral borders brown. Chelicerae red brown, labium and endites brown. Sternum dark yellow. Legs and palps orange, with dark gray bands on the legs I – IV, coxae ventrally yellow. Abdomen gray with a yellow narrow median dorsal folium, ventrally orange. Total length 16.2. Carapace 8.1 long and 6.4 wide. Eye diameters: AME 0.14, ALE 0.12, PME 0.2, PLE 0.18. Chelicerae: promargin with 3 teeth, the median almost twice as high as the laterals; retromargin with 5 teeth, the basal smaller. Leg measurements: I: femur 9.4 / patella 3.5 / tibia 9.5 / metatarsus 8.1 / tarsus 2.8 / total 33.3; II: 8.3 / 3.5 / 8.4 / 7.6 / 2.7 / 30.5; III: 7.4 / 2.8 / 6.4 / 6.9 / 2.2 / 25.7; IV: 9.8 / 3.2 / 9 / 11.7 / 3.1 / 36.8. Leg formula: 4123. Leg spination: tibia I-II v 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2, r 1 - 1 - 0, p 1 - 1 - 0, III-IV v 2 - 2 - 2, r 1 - 1 - 0, p 1 - 1 - 0; metatarsus I-II v 2 - 2 - 2, r 1 - 1 - 0, p 1 - 1 - 0, IV v 2 - 2 - 2, r 1 - 1 - 1, p 1 - 1 - 1. Female genitalia (Fig. 7): epigynum with median sector large and lateral lobes robust; copulatory ducts long and curved; spermathecae oval; fertilization ducts basally positioned, narrow and sinuous.

diagnosis
Diagnosis. The female of Centroctenus claudia sp. n. differs from other species by the big and rounded anterior-lateral edges and robust lateral lobes (Fig. 7 A) in the female epigynum.
distribution
Distribution. Known only from type locality (Fig. 12 C).
etymology
Etymology. The species epithet is a noun in apposition taken from the type locality, Claudia, in Brazil.
