This dataset contains the records of ants belonging to UWIZM’s land arthropod collection. There are 1092 ants all belonging to the family Formicidae. These specimens are all stored in the Land Arthropod Room of the UWIZM.Sampling Description

Specimen identifications were checked by the UWIZM.Method steps
- 1. Specimens in the collection were assessed for existing data (pinned labels, etc) 2. Identifications were confirmed or made using a variety of literature sources (scientific papers, books, online resources) 3. Specimens were photographed and properly stored then the data was uploaded to the UWIZM Past Perfect database.
Taxonomic Coverages
Ants were identified to species level wherever possible.

Specimens are from across the Caribbean, and tropical locations on the continents of South America and Asia.
