diagnosis
Diagnosis. Carapace with 3 pairs of sinuate lateral ridges, marginal carina entire, ridge absent on pseudorostrum; eyelobe with lenses or tumidities. Antennule article 1 not expanded; accessory flagellum 0.8 main flagellum. Telson shorter than uropod peduncles, with 3 terminal setae, terminal setae subequal. Uropod endopod article 1 1.6 – 1.8 length of articles 2 and 3 together. Adult male unknown. Depth. 280 – 520 m.
discussion
Remarks. Platytyphlops racovitzai is most similar to P. rossi, but it can be differentiated by the carapace. In P. racovitzai the ridges are tall, narrow and have an undulating hyline margin, while in P. rossi the ridges are much shorter and do not have a hyaline margin.
