Remarks. Newman & Ross (1971) tentatively related this species to the Arcoscalpellum michelottianum group. In the absence of the holotype, a neotype designation may help to establish and stabilise the systematic position of this species.

Distribution. Pacific, Western Central and Southeast. Known depth range 1508 to 1965 m. Habitat. On rocks and gastropod shells.
