King Angelfish. To about 36 cm (14.2 in) TL (Robertson and Allen 2008). Isla Guadalupe, central Baja California (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) and Bahía Magdalena, southern Baja California (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) to Gulf of California (Krupp and Schneider in Fischer et al. 1995) to Talara, Peru (Chirichigno 1974), and Islas Galápagos (Grove and Lavenberg 1997). Depth: 1 – 80 m (3 – 262 ft) or more (min.: Robertson and Allen 2002; max.: Allen and Robertson 1994).
