Description of Brevibacterium epidermidis RMD 3 Y- 15 - 4 Cells are Gramstainingpositive, nonflagellated and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, entire, convex and pale-yellow-colored after 2 days on R 2 A at 30 ° C. Positive for glucose fermentation and gelatinase in API 20 NE but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis and βgalactosidase. DGlucose, Larabinose, Dmannitol, D-mannose, N-acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, gluconate, caprate, adipate, malate, citrate, phenylacetate are utilized. Strain RMD 3 Y- 15 - 4 (= NIBRBA 0000114878) has been isolated from ginseng soil, Anseong, Korea.
