The dataset contains the results of quantitative measurements of yield fruits of 4 wild plant species (Vacciniumvitis-idaea L., Vaccinium myrtillus L., Fragaria viridis (Duch.) Weston, Oxycoccus palustris Pers.) on permanent plots, located in the core area of the Prioksko-Terrasnyi Biosphere Reserve in the typical place of berries grow. The first data were collected by researcher E. Lavrenova in 1973. Further data were collected on the program Chronicle of nature by researchers of theBiosphere Reserve: V. Danilov, L. Panicheva, T. Makeeva, M. Ableev, G. Levitskaya, G. Sokolova and T. Sycheva. Annually, the data are presented in the scientific report Chronicle of nature. Method of assessing yield of berry-fields is standardized as OST 56-83-85 (in Russian OCT 56-83-85) and recommended for use in the program Annals of nature Filonov, K. P. & Nukhimovskaya, Y. D. The Chronicles of Nature in Zapovedniks of the USSR. Methodological notes. (Nauka Press, Moscow. (Russian)., 1990).Sampling
To determine the yield of berries of each plant species, 1 or 2 permanent plots are selected in a typical plant biotope. The area of the permanent plot is about 1000 m (30*30 m). Annually at the period of mass maturity on permanent plots are selected 3 lines with 10 test units (1 unit= 1 square meter). Totally selected 30 test units where harvested all the berries.Method steps
- The locality tests units can be changed in year by year inside border of permanent plot. The harvested berries of each accounting unit in the laboratory was weighed and recalculated to an area of 1 ha. All data berry yield in kg of fresh berry weight on 1 ha of berryfield (kg/ha).
