From 2002 to 2007 volunteer butterfly enthusiasts spent thousands of hours in the field in an effort to record the status and distribution of Vermont butterflies, the first systematic statewide butterfly atlas to be undertaken. As part of this atlas, James Hedbor provided historic records from his collection in 2004 for this effort. He donated his lifetime collection of moths and butterflies, more than 4,000 specimens, to the University of Florida McGuire Center for Lepidoptera & Biodiversity at the Florida Museum of Natural History, where these now likely reside.Sampling Description
