Presented information on species occurrences were obtained during the field excursions in the Utrish Reserve. We recorded data on the location of species in a field notebook. Georeferences were performed with using Garmin Vista HCx location device. In May-June 2021, we provided botanical inventory in Turetskaya Shchel' Gorge, Sredinnyi Bugor Mt., lower reaches of Savina Shchel' Gorge, floodplain of the Sukko River, Shtan'kivskie glades (Smertnaya Mt.), Bazovaya Shchel' Gorge, Vtoraya Topol'naya Gorge, Navagirskaya Shchel' Gorge, Efremova Shchel' Gorge, area of three coastal lagoons on the Black Sea shore, several places on the Navagir Ridge, as well as we made separate observations in the area of the Malyi Utrish Village, the valley of the Sukhoy Liman Lake, Shirokaya Shchel' and Kazennaya Shchel' Gorges, on the seashore between Vodopadnaya Shchel' and Bolshoi Utrish Settlement. Totally we recorded 2465 occurrences belonging 615 vascular plant species from 330 locations. To check species identification we collected 290 herbarium vouchers: 279 specimens were stored in the herbarium of the Avrorin Polar-Alpine Botanical Garden-Institute Kola scientific center RAS (KPABG) and 11 duplicates were transferred to the herbarium of the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MW). Information of some species occurrences and plant photos were also published on the iNaturalist platform in the project “ Flora of the Utrish Reserve” (https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/flora-zapovednika-utrish-flora-of-utrish-reserve). All the time during the field work my wife Ekaterina Budanova took part in my research.Sampling Description

The Utrish State Nature Reserve is located in Abrau Peninsula of the northwestern part of the Black Sea and includes foothills of the northwestern Caucasus. The nature reserve was established to protect typical eastern Mediterranean landscapes in the Caucasus. It is situated in Anapa and Novorossiysk districts of Krasnodar Territory, Russia. Its territory is mainly mountainous, with the Navagirski Ridge reaching over 550 m above sea level. The vegetation is represented by two types, xerophytic sub-Mediterranean communities and mesophytic broadleaf forests. Sub-Mediterranean plant communities include Pistacia-Juniperus forests and woodlands, as well as Carpinus orientalis-Quercus pubescens forests, often with various participation of junipers. Mesophytic forests consist of pure stands of Quercus petraea or forests with different combinations of broadleaf species: Fraxinus excelsior, Tilia begoniifolia, Acer campestre, A. cappadocicum, Carpinus betulus, C. orientalis and Fagus orientalis. Small sites of steppe-meadow communities are located at the uppermost part of mountain ridges.
