Description
The Faculty of Biology, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań is one of the 20 faculties of AMU. In 2004, a museum-type unit - the Natural Collections - was established within the university. It is where one of the largest in the country (and in some areas also in Europe) a collection of botanical, mycological, and zoological specimens has been deposited. In the years 2018-2021, the AMUNATCOLL project is being carried out. This project concerns the digitization and sharing of the natural data resources consisting of 54 collections of plants, fungi, and animals as well as 12 specialized and iconographic collections (giving altogether 2 million unique records). Digital resources based on the collections gathered at the Faculty of Biology, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań may constitute research material for taxonomic, systematic,and biometric studies, as well as for work in the field of molecular genetics, ecology, and biogeography.Contacts
