FSBI Zeya State Nature Reserve

Description

Zeysky State natural reserve, organized in October 1963, is located on the territory of Zejskogo district of Amur Oblast, in the eastern part of the ridge of Tukuringra. The total area of the reserve 99430 HA. Topography determines the Tukuringra Ridge nature reserve, which forms an integral part of the mountain ranges of Jankan-Tukuringra-Soktahan-Dzhagdy. Absolute height within the territory of the reserve ranges from 400 to 1442 m above sea level with a predominance of altitudes above 600 m. Numerous River reserve belonging to the Zeya River basin. The climate is temperate in the reserve with a touch of cold continental monsoon climate. Well defined altitude vegetation. Up to a height of 500 metres above sea level are oak and chernoberezovye forests (found only in the South of the reserve). Above them and up to 900 m there is a belt of listvennichnikov with the participation of white birch. Even higher, to about 1000-1100 m, dark coniferous forests are located in spruce ajanskoj. Elevation 1000-1100 m are thickets of cedar. These are the same and even greater altitudes there are mountain tundra. In the reserve runs Northwest and North boundary of Manchurian flora: Mongolian oak, Linden, Amur, Amur barberry gugijacha Chinese, etc. The General appearance of the fauna of the reserve taiga. Among mammals, the most typical are raisins, elk, brown bear, sable, ermine, white hare. In winter, visits of the Amur tiger to the reserve are possible. Of particular interest are the birds included in the Red book of Russia species: spruce grouse and osprey. Common are capercaillie and black grouse, and in the mountain tundra – white partridge.
