Comments. Parapiophila vulgaris is widespread in the Nearctic (Duda 1924; Steyskal 1965) and Palaearctic (Zuska & Laštovka 1965; Lohm 1978; Ozerov 2004 b; Martín-Vega et al. 2010). See comments under P. kugluktuk for characters distinguishing these two similar species.
