Eurycercus (Eurycercus) macracanthus Frey, 1973. Records: Bekker et al. 2012: 10–16/3–4 (Nen River, Loakan zi, Jilin Province and Lake Malaga, Xiuganmeng); As E. macrocanthus by Chen et al. 1995a: 68–69/1–12 (a small pond at Fuyuan County in Heilongjiang). Common in the Amur basin (Bekker et al. 2012), and therefore perhaps in northern China. Initially placed in subgenus Eurycercus (Bullatifrons) (Frey 1975), but this taxon is a junior synonym of Eurycercus (Eurycercus) (see Bekker et al. 2012).
