Indole is not produced and glucose is not fermented. The strain utilizes D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N - acetyl-glucosamine, potassium gluconate, adipic acid, malic acid, and phenylacetic acid, whereas the strain does not utilize D-maltose, capric acid and trisodium citrate.
