description
Description of song: Chorthippus biguttulus euhedickei male calling song generally consists of two different phrases (Fig. 17 B). The duration of the song varies depending on syllable numbers and gaps. The calling song usually starts with a typical polysyllabic phrase (similar with C. biguttulus biguttulus) and continues with two similar irregular phrases which have no observable syllables (repeated unit periods). The first phrase comprises 15 – 40 syllables (Fig. 17 C) whose durations generally change between 85 and 110 ms (Fig. 17 C). The second and third phrases (another type phrases) generally continue with 1 – 2 s periods (Fig. 17 D). Published song data, used for comparison: Helversen 1989; Şirin 2009.
