Distribution. Europe. A record of Hg. hirsutosimilis from the steppe zone of Western Siberia (Davydova & Nikol’sky, 1986) remains the only published finding of this species in Asiatic Russia. Unfortunately, the authors gave no information about the exact locality of Hg. hirsutosimilis in Siberia or its mammal host there.
