Pacific Piquintinga or Striped Herring. To 15.9 cm (6.3 in) TL (Coello et al. 2021). Bahía Ballenas (26 ° 40 ’ N, 113 ° 30 ’ W), southern Baja California (Grove and Lavenberg 1994) to Puerto Pizarro, Peru (Chirichigno and Vélez 1974), including Gulf of California (Whitehead and Rodríguez-Sánchez in Fischer et al. 1995) and Islas Galápagos (Grove and Lavenberg 1997).
