diagnosis
Diagnosis. Antenna short, not reaching first chaetiger; club-shaped. Secondary ciliary organs present. Three prebranchial segments; dorsal parapodial lobes of chaetiger 1 similar in length to those of remaining prebranchial chaetiger. Branchiae numbering up to 30 pairs; relatively thin, cylindrical and gradually tapering. Modified notochaetae absent. Neuropodial capillaries clearly thicker than notopodial ones. Modified neurochaetae as gradually tapering, terminal spine as continuation of tip or absent.
distribution
Distribution. North Atlantic: western coast near North Carolina (Pettibone 1957; Day 1973) and eastern coast, near Norway (Hartley 1981). Canadian Arctic (Conlan et al. 2008). Northern California (Strelzov 1973). Chilean Patagonia (Montiel et al. 2002). Southern Brazil (Prantoni et al. 2013)
