Distribution of threatened lycopod species within Ukraine

Study Extent

The dataset is a collection of records of 6 rare species of lycopods found on the territory of Ukraine and published/reported/preserved in different forms that enabled the author to correctly interprate, understand, transfer the data and ideally - confirm it with some additional evidence (photos, videos, herbarium samples).

Sampling

Data were collected using the following data sources: herbaria (KW, KWHA, KWHU, LW, LWS, LWKS, UU, BRNU, MHA, MW, Carpathian biosphere reserve), scientific literature, iNaturalist, UkrBIN, social media (observations with images and locations). All observations were checked for proper determination and georeferencing.

Quality Control

The author is responsible for the quality of data provided within the datset.

Method steps

1. Collecting of information about 6 rare Lycopodiopsida species of Ukrainian flora from peer-reviewed publications, grey literature, museum collections, social networks, open databases etc.
2. Adding own records of the mentioned species.
3. Georeferencing.
4. Organizing the dataset according to the Darwin Core standards.

The dataset consists of records of 6 Lycopodiopsida species: Lycopodium annotinum, Huperzia selago, Diphasiastrum alpinum, Diphasiastrum complanatum, Diphasiastrum tristachyum, Diphasiastrum zeilleri
