General distribution. Northwestern Indian Ocean: southern Yemen and Gulf of Oman east to Iran. Possibly introduced in Pakistan. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine. Distribution in the Arabian Peninsula. Oman: Wadis Shab, Darsit, and several other Wadis adjacent to the coastal area of the Arabian Sea, Dhofar region, UAE, Yemen.
