Occurrence data from specimens deposited in entomological collections: ASUCOB (Charles W. O'Brien Collection, Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona), CLEV (Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Columbus, Ohio), CMNC (Canadian Museum of Nature, Ottawa, Canada), INHS (Illinois Natural History Survey, Champaign, Illinois), LSAM (Louisiana State Arthropod Museum, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana), MEM (Mississippi State University, Mississippi, Mississippi). Please, note that the dataset contains information for two different species: Compsus auricephalus (Say, 1824) (from USA, Mexico and Guatemala) and Compsus aff. auricephalus Champion, 1911 (from Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama). All the records appear as Compsus auricephalus (Say, 1824) on GBIF, but the downloadable file has the correct species ID for every record.Purpose
