Data published here are from the field work conducted in the Sanga department in northern Republic of Congo in February 2021. The work was funded by the Bio-Bridge Initiative, grant agreement No. 2000005261 and was jointly done by researchers from the NGO Initiative des Champignons et des Plantes du Congo (ICPC), Republic of Congo, and researchers from the Research Unit Tropical Mycology and Plants-Soil Fungi Interactions (MyTIPS), Benin.Sampling Description
Study Extent
The field work took place in Sangha department in northern Congo and more precisely in Gilbetiodendron dewevrei forest in Ouesso and its surroundings.Sampling
Macrofungal specimens are collected while walking in Gilbertiodendron dewevrei forest in the study area. When a macrofungus is found, several photographs are taken to show how the fungus grows in the field followed by the recording of information on ephemerous characters and ecology. Each specimen received a unique collection number which was also applied to all photos belonging to that specimen. All specimens were dried in the evening of the same collecting day using an electrical dryer.Method steps
