discussion
REMARKS. — The greenish tawny head and thorax with ochraceous abdomen gives this species a very similar general appearance to Dorisiana metcalfi. However, the presence of a curved timbal cover with ventral margin parallel to the long body axis distinguishes it as a species of Guyalna rather than Dorisiana. The male abdominal tergites are translucent and body lengths range from 24 – 26 mm.
distribution
DISTRIBUTION. — The species has been reported from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru (Metcalf 1963 a; Sanborn 2013; 2020 b; Sanborn & Heath 2014) with a recent range expansion into Venezuela (Sanborn 2020 a). The species has been reported from Coca, Orellana province, Santa Inez (Jacobi 1907 a; Goding 1925).
