discussion
Lentilactobacillus diolivorans (di. o. li. vo’rans. N. L. n. diol from 1,2 - propanediol; L. pres. part. vorans eating; N. L. part. adj. diolivorans eating diols). Basonym: Lactobacillus diolivorans Kroonemen et al. 2001, 645 VP Growth is observed between 20 and 40 ° C, and between pH 3.8 and 7. L. diolivorans was the first lactic acid bacterium for which the metabolic pathway for propanediol and glycerol metabolism to propanol and propionate or 1,3 propanediol and 3 - hydroxypropionate, respectively, was thoroughly described [328]. This metabolic pathway is functional is multiple other lactobacilli [14, 18]. The genome size of the type strain is 3.27 Mbp. The mol % G + C content of DNA is 40.0.
