description
Rosethorn Rockfish. To 43 cm (16.9 in) TL (Yamanaka 2005). Western Gulf of Alaska east of Sitkinak Island (Mecklenburg et al. 2002) to at least about U. S. - Mexican border (32 ° 26.1 ’ N, 119 ° 06.6 ’ W) (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California), or perhaps to Banco Ranger (28 ° 33 ’ N, 115 ° 25 ’ W), central Baja California (Snytko 1986), but without documentation. Benthic; depth: 27 – 1,151 m (89 – 3,775 ft) (min.: DFO; max.: NWFSC-FRAM).
