Shortnose Mojarra. To 38 cm (15 in) TL (Amezcua Linares 1996). Arroyo Soledad (25 ° 11.4 ’ N, 112 ° 05.7 ’ W), southern Baja California (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) to Caleta La Cruz, Peru (Chirichigno and Vélez 1998), including lower and central Gulf of California (Robertson and Allen 2002) and Islas Galápagos (Grove and Lavenberg 1997). Marine, brackish, and fresh waters (Romero-Berny 2018); depth; surface (Robertson and Allen 2002), 0.3 – 104 m (1 – 341 ft) (min.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California; max.: Amezcua Linares 1996).
