Positive for urease activity, esculin hydrolysis and β - galactosidase activities. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, and arginine dihydrolase and gelatinase activities. D- Glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, N - acetylglucosamine, and malic acid are utilized. Does not utilize D- maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid.
