Type specimens are extremely crucial for taxonomic studies as they form the backbone for species nomenclature. BNHS houses a good collection of type specimens, especially for reptiles and amphibians which is growing frequently. The dataset consists of 513 occurrence records for type specimens of various amphibians collected from across India.
