discussion
An Australasian species also known from islands in the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans, all of whose parasitic stages have been found on Procellariiformes: Procellariidae, and Sphenisciformes: Spheniscidae; adults and nymphs have been collected from Procellariiformes: Diomedeidae. There are no records of Ixodes kerguelenensis causing human parasitism.
