This workshop is part of the capacity enhancement efforts associated to the Biodiversity Information for Development (BID) programme led by GBIF.
It aims to contribute to enhancing the capacity of the project teams to plan and implement biodiversity data publishing efforts effectively and according to GBIF standards. It will have a strong focus on the technical aspects of the data mobilization - in particular everything related to the data lifecycle: digitization, management and online publishing. The social aspects of the process will also be considered.
The event will have online and onsite components and both will have a strong practical approach (including a significant component of group work). Participants will have the possibility to evaluate their learning and receive an official certification in the form of a Mozilla Open Badge. The official language of the workshop will be English, but there will be partial support for French speakers through francophone trainers and resources.
Participation in the BID-funded workshops is restricted to project representatives and mentors. The GBIF Secretariat issues specific calls for nominations among those entitled to send participants to a workshop during the workshop planning phase. Join the mentors' team or contact the leader of the BID project you collaborate with to explore options for participating in this BID workshop.
This programme is funded by the European Union.
