REMARKS The origin of the species is the Antilles. The original sample MNHN-B 3414 with two dry specimens (2 males) from Haiti is presumed to belong to the type series, the collector Ricord being known to have collected material in this region and sent to the MNHN. In the CAA, Ricord (see Appendix) is listed as a collector of material from Cuba with two entries in 1833.
