diagnosis
Emended diagnosis. Patrera species can be distinguished by the following characters combination: carapace subrectangular, tracheal spiracle between the middle of the abdomen and the epigastric groove, lateral margin of endites concave, male palp with subtegular projection, prominent in fulvastra and florezi species groups or reduced in philipi species group. Additionally, the latter group is provided with a sclerotized ventral tegular process (Figs 22 E ̅ F; 23 C ̅ E; 24 E ̅ G; 25 C ̅ E; 26 D ̅ F; Dupérré & Tapia 2016: 30 ̅ 41, figs 41, 46). Females can be distinguished from Katissa Brescovit and Shuyushka Dupérré & Tapia by having a distinct sclerotized hood situated on the anterior region of the epigynum, which can be triangular, transversal or scape-shaped (Figs 1 F ̅ G; 6 F ̅ G; 13 F ̅ G; 14 F ̅ G; 15 F ̅ G; 16 F ̅ G; 17 F ̅ G; 29 F ̅ G; Brescovit 1997: 146, figs 51 ̅ 52; Dupérré & Tapia 2016: 30 ̅ 41, figs 44, 52, 58, 63). Additionaly, Patrera species also can be distinguished from those of Shuyushka by the absence of a ventral patellar apophysis and from those of Lepajan by the presence of chilum (see Dupérré & Tapia 2016: 21 ̅ 29, figs 28 ̅ 29, 33 ̅ 34, 38 ̅ 39; Brescovit 1993: 125 ̅ 128, figs 1 ̅ 8).
