description
Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and rod shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, entire and light yellow colored after 9 days on TSA at 30 ° C. Positive for β - galactosidase in API 20 NE, but negative for arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, gelatinase, glucose fermentation, indole production, nitrate reduction and urease. Does not utilize N - acetyl-glucosamine, adipic acid, L-arabinose, capric acid, D-glucose, malic acid, D-maltose, D-mannose, phenylacetic acid, potassium gluconate and trisodium citrate. Weakly utilize the Dmannitol. Strain C 2 - 18 (= NIBRBAC 000498023) has been isolated from a natural cave, Jeju, Korea.
