The dataset includes fauna observation data collected between 2021 and 2022 in Onshore Argentina (San Roque North Blocks) during various biodiversity surveys conducted by Total Austral. The surveys were made as part of a diagnostic Phase on the design of a Biodiversity Action Plan for the areaSampling Description
Study Extent
The data from this resource was collected during several campaigns within the San Roque North Block site.Sampling
As this datasets include occurences from several campaigns, different methodologies were used for the data collection. In the case of birds, herpetofauna and mammals observations, they were made through the observation along some linear transects already defined. The transects were 500 m long and 50 meters wide, having a total extension of 25000 square meters. In some occasions, the observations were made in particular spots which were not necessarily part of the transects. In this case, the datasets specifies "ad hoc observation" which was also made for an hour. In the case of flora, the sampling was made by Point Quadrat and the extension was 50 meters.Quality Control
To ensure the quality of the data, there were always 2 observers for the data collection. For the identification, when in doubt, the observations were checked with the corresponding bibliography.Method steps
- The transects were traversed by foot by 2 observers. The organisms were identified both by direct and indirect observations
