description
Description. Known from females only. Fore wing length 3.5 – 3.8 mm (holotype: 3.8 mm). Antenna with 29 flagellomeres. Mesoscutum with more or less even, dense punctuation. Scutellum without punctures, all smooth and shining. Mesopleuron with strong and rather dense punctures, smooth in-between; below subtegular ridge with parallel, diagonal carinulae. Metapleuron with juxacoxal carina weakly indicated by some rugae. Propodeal areas smooth with strong punctures. Hind coxa coriaceous and matt, with weak punctures. Hind femur length to width ratio 4.1 – 4.5 in female (male unknown), ventrally with a medium sized tooth almost as long as width of hind tibia at mid length. Hind tibia 1.3 – 1.4 (1.3) mm. Second tergite 2.4 – 2.6 (2.4) × longer than wide at base, covered with longitudinal carinulae. Ovipositor 1.6 – 1.8 (1.8) × as long as hind tibia. Colouration. Antenna basally orange, remainder brown or black. Face dark brown with orange markings along inner eye margins and on lower face and yellow on malar space. Clypeus orange. Back of head dark brown. Mesosoma including propodeum orange. Hind femur orange, with apex yellow. Hind tibia orange to orange-brown with base and apex darkened. Fore wing hyaline with a dark apex. Metasoma orange, sometimes with irregular brown markings, especially basally on tergite 3 and on posterior tergites, and with narrow light apical margins.
etymology
Etymology. The holotype of this species was collected by night in the Moonlight Creek in Queensland, and is thus named after the moon.
