discussion
Remarks. Ceratomerus includes 13 species currently known from South America (Sinclair 2010) with seven of them known from Chile, and has representatives in Australia (19 species distributed along Eastern territories, including Tasmania) (Evenhuis 2017) and New Zealand with the majority of species (45 species, Sinclair 2017 b). An identification key to species of Ceratomerus in South America was provided by Sinclair (2010). Tomia Paramonov was erected for the highly autapomorphic species Ceratomerus campbelli Paramonov, but the extreme morphological features are not unusual for the genus Ceratomerus, and Colless & McAlpine (1991) were justified in this synonymy (Sinclair 2003). Tomia Paramonov is a junior homonym of Tomia Martynov, 1936, a fossil Paraplecopteran of the family Tomiidae.
