discussion
Remarks. This specimen was taken together with the holotype of S. marginatum identified by Hoek (1883) and was described by Hoek (1883) “ after much hesitation ” as a new species, Scalpellum ovatum (the name S. ovaliscus is given on the old label in the NHM collection). Scalpellum ovatum was considered to be a synonym of N. marginatum by Newman & Ross (1971) but was reinstated as a valid species by Young (2007). In neither case was the holotype studied. We follow Young in maintaining the two species as valid until further comparative study of both holotypes can be undertaken. Subfamily ARCOSCALPELLINAE Zevina, 1978
