description
Mesosoma length dorsally 1.43 X its width. Pronotum length 0.4 X its width, posterior pronotal border distinctly angulate. Metanotum median length 2.55 X metapostnotum median length. Propodeum with sharply defined anterior horizontal and posterior vertical faces, its median length 0.7 X maximum width. Tarsal comb short, apical spine of tarsomere 1 scarcely touching the apex of tarsomere 2; apical spine of tarsomeres 2 and 3 projecting over the apex of tarsomeres 3 and 4 correspondently, tarsomere 1 with three spines, tarsomere 2 with two, tarsomere 3 with one, tarsomeres 4 and 5 without spines. Longer spur of mid tibia 0.8 X tarsomere 1, longer spur of hind tibia 0.64 X tarsomere 1. Claws symmetrical with additional inner tooth. Fore wing slightly infuscate, venation as in Fig. 12. Pterostigma small, slightly longer than first abscissa of R. Second abscissa of R 2.17 X third abscissa of R. Frons, supraclypeal area, gena, vertex, propleuron, and coxa with scattered erect long black setae. Mandible with two long curved strong black setae and seven shorter ones. Posterior half of pronotum, mesoscutum, mesoscutellum with sparse black setae. Mesepisternum anterior to coxa with black setae. Metanotum and propodeum lacking setae. Posterior border of S 2 – S 5 with sparse erect black setae, S 6 with scattered setae. T 5 – T 6 with sparse black setae. Face with pale pubescence, frons, pronotum, and mesonotum with brownish pubescence, propleuron, mesopleuron, metanotum, coxa with iridescent pale pubescence; metasoma with very weak pubescence. Body regularly micropunctate. Body black, outer eye orbit near vertex with small pale patch, mandible brown basally, yellow-orange medially and brownish apically; legs brownish; T 1 and T 2 wholly and T 3 basally ferruginous-red. Remarks. Evagetes sahlbergi has been correctly identified only after lectotypification (Tobias 1978).

Russia (Primorskiy Terr., Kamchatka Terr., Magadan Prov., Chukotka, European part) (Tobias 1978, Lelej 1995, Loktionov 2009), Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland (v. d. Smissen 2003, Wahis 2007), Mongolia (Wolf 1981). Hosts. Arachnospila (Ammosphex) abnormis (Dahlbom 1842), Arachnospila (Ammosphex) hedickei (Haupt 1929), and probably Arachnospila (Ammosphex) opinata (Tournier 1890) (v. d. Smissen 2003).
